Summer Vacation Sport
I had a fantastic time at Anglolang in Summer. There were a lot of afternoon activities to choose from and my lessons were really interesting.- Philippe, France

This fun English course is perfect for international students who want to join a short Summer Vacation course to improve their English in the morning and enjoy sports and cultural activities in the afternoon.

Objectives

  • increase your confidence when communicating in English
  • help you to use English more effectively
  • help you to speak more accurately and fluently
  • improve your grammar
  • increase your vocabulary
  • improve your pronunciation

Anticipated Outcomes

Improved communication skills leading to greater confidence and a ‘can do’ attitude

Lessons

All lessons are topic-based. Weekly topics are chosen in consultation with the students in the class as part of Anglolang’s ‘negotiated syllabus’. The topic-based classes are taught using interactive whiteboards, up-to-date authentic resources from the Internet, such as You Tube videos, as well as digital English language course books.

In the afternoon there is a choice of activities, such as:
Sports – including swimming, mini-golf, badminton, basketball, football, volleyball
Sightseeing – including Scarborough castle, a guided town tour and Peasholm Park
Cultural visits, including Scarborough Rotunda Museum, Scarborough Art gallery
Other activities – such as Scarborough Sea Life Centre, a mini sea cruise

Every Wednesday there is a full-day guided study visit to a place of local interest such as York, Whitby and Leeds. All activities and Wednesday excursions are included in the price. There are also optional weekend excursions for an additional cost.
