During the Summer Programme (from 17 June until 24 August 2024), there is a full-day study visit on Wednesdays. Actual teaching time, excluding breaks, is therefore 18 hours per week. There are no lessons on public holidays which are 6 May, 27 May and 27 August 2024.
If you need to pass IELTS (The International English Language Testing System) to progress in your studies or work, Anglolang’s IELTS preparation course will maximise your chance of succeeding in the exam.
Course Objectives
The morning lessons, which are mixed with Intensive English students, focus on increasing confidence when communicating in English, improving fluency and developing English skills, vocabulary and grammar for the IELTS examination. All morning lessons are topic-based and relevant IELTS topics are chosen in consulation with the students in the class as part of Anglolang’s ‘negotiated syllabus’. The topic-based classes are taught using interactive whiteboards, up-to-date authentic resources from the Internet, such as You Tube videos, as well as digital English language course books.
During the afternoon lessons with examination students only, examination questions are practised along with techniques and strategies for succeeding in the IELTS test. Please note that the afternoon lesson may sometimes be scheduled to start later and therefore we cannot guarantee that the afternoon class will finish at 15.00.
IELTS homework is given regularly, with particular emphasis on reading and writing outside the classroom. Feedback, correction and advice is given. Mock examinations are also done regularly.
